This is version 1.4 of EMPLANT's MACPRO emulation software.

The replacement IC that comes with this package must be installed before
the emulation module will work!

Remove your EMPLANT board from your machine and locate 'GAL3'.  Remove
this chip (note the position of the notch on this chip before removing
it, as the replacement chip must be installed with the notch in the
same direction).  Install the replacement chip (noting the notch).
Re-install the EMPLANT board.

If you obtained this software update as an LHA archive:

In order to use the HardDisk_Installer script you have two
choices:

1) Format a floppy disk with the name 'MAC2'. MAKE SURE you use FFS
   (FastFileSystem) when formatting the floppy.  Decompress this
   archive to the floppy and double-click on the HardDisk-Installer
   icon.  

2) Decompress the archive into RAD: and assign MAC2: to RAD:

HardKickMMU is no longer necessary.  The MACPRO emulation absolutely
requires the use of a 68030, 68040, or 68060 with an MMU.  There
are no exceptions to this rule!

You MUST have the standard MAC emulation already installed before you
can install and use this emulation module.

Currently, virtual memory support is not available on 68060 machines
(we have to replace most of the virtual memory manager in order to
gain 68060 compatibility, which we are working on).

All of the controls of this emulation module are the same as those
found on the standard MAC emulation (although the interface screen
does open on the default public screen).

If you want to use your CD-ROM drive (setup in the DEVICES menu), simply
enter the controlling device driver's name (ie scsi.device,
warpdrive.device, etc.) in the box, set the unit # to be the same
as the CD-ROM's SCSI ID#, and select HFS/ISO (recommended).

Full AmigaGuide documentation will be available on our BBS ASAP, although
the interface features (with exception of the MEMORY control menu) are
functionally identical to the standard MAC emulation.

A quick run down on the MEMORY controls:

Memory Mode-

Psuedo-24: Use this for applications that are not fully 32 bit clean.
32 bit: 32 bit addressing mode only.

Memory Mapping-

Normal: Normal mapping, using Amiga memory space.  NOTE:This may not work
        properly for printing with AppleTalk printers, use VIRTUAL or VMEM.

Virtual: This completely disassociates the Amiga's and MAC's memory space.
         The MAC could crash, leaving the Amiga running and Vice-Versa.
         With exception of the file transfer, neither side have the ability
         to clash with each other.

VMEM: This turns on the ability to have MAC's virtual memory active.  Due to
      various systems, there is a VirtualBase address that can be altered.
      If you are having difficulities getting Virtual memory working (which
      is activated by turning it on with the MAC's MEMORY CONTROL PANEL),
      contact Utilities Unlimited with your machine type, memory locations,
      etc. to see if your VirtualBase needs to be changed.
