Monochrome images can be grabbed in one go. High resolution interlaced HAM8 mode produces the best results, but Ševen those without the new AGA chips can achieve some top class Šinterlaced HAM images. Remember that as this box connects to the parallel port, it will work Šon every model of Amiga - not just the A1200 I tested it with. The Šonly minus point is the shape of the casing, as it obscures the serial port on the A1200/A600/A500. A small extension cable is available at a Šnominal extra cost if you really need access, although in the majority Šof cases this shouldn't be a problem. An extra connector, and a bit of a bonus at this price range, will Šaccept SVHS input from a camera or video deck. SVHS is a more advanced Šsystem than normal VHS, as it keeps the luminance (brightness) video Šinformation separate from the chrominance (colour) information. Stereo sources can be sampled in one go, although for most Šapplications this isn't really necessary. Mono sampling is supported Šwhich allows for faster rates. Incoming sound is converted by an analogue to digital chip and then Špassed through the parallel port into the Amiga's memory. Once there Šit can be processed further or saved out to disk as a standard IFF Šfile to be loaded into MED or other sound tracker program. This is a Šperfect way of creating your own unique samples - for example you Šcould digitise your own voice saying "Warning!
