In the top Shell window, Wait has been used to put the
window to sleep for twenty minutes. However, in the lower
Shell window, we use Status to discover the process number
and we can then send a break which will wake up the Wait
before time.

Box out: Workbench Toys

If you ever get bored using your Amiga for mundane tasks
such as games, Internet access, ray tracing, MIDI sequencing
and all nonsense, you'll be pleased to know that they are
lots of little add-on toys you can play with. These can all
run in the background, quietly multitasking away until you
get really bored and nuke them.

For example, in the screen shot below you can see that most
useful utility, Eyes. Eyes draws some eyes on the screen.
They follow your pointer about, and if you don't move it for
a bit they fall asleep. Bit like me in that respect.

Secondly we have Stickit! which could possibly be taken to
be useful by a stretch of the imagination. Rather than cover
your monitor / desk / workmates with little bits of coloured
paper, you can use this program to maintain little notes
which float around the screen. It is only worth using this
program if you have a large screen display. In fact, if you
have a lot of notes and several pairs of eyes watching you
will soon run out of space to actually do any work.
