Jumper settings:

Depending on the usage of the accelerator card, the jumpers 6, 7, 8 and 9 are set as shown at the depiction. Jumper 9 has the same function like the clock jumper (INT/EXT CLCK) of the A4000.

The jumper R is for the reset connector of the tower.

The jumpers 1 - 5 are for the SCSI host adaptor: jumper 5 closed = SCSI off / jumper 5 opened = SCSI on. The jumpers 1, 2 and 3 are for the ID of the SCSI host adaptor and should all be closed (SCSI ID 7).

General notes:

The Z3 bus board requires OS 3.1 ROM.

We recommend to use a A3/4000 or even better a PPC accelerator card to get the best performance from your Z3 bus board. You can still use your A1200 accelerator card, but in this case the bus board will only work in the Zorro II mode.

The Zorro slot in the middle supports only the Zorro II mode (also if a A3/4000 accelerator card is used).

Please ensure that you match the red core of the SCSI drive data cable to the mark "1" on the bus board if you connect a SCSI device. Pin 1 is located to the edge of the bus board (see drawing).

If you use a A1200 accelerator card it is sometimes necessary to reset the computer for booting after switching on.

The video slot on the bus board is not activated. To use it you need the Video slot adaptor, which you can order separately.

Software

For the installation of a hard disk or CD-ROM drive please use the programs "Install HD" or "Install CD" on the floppy disk. You can also use do the installation with any other installation tool (e. g. "HDToolBox" of the Workbench). The name of the SCSI device is "123.device".

If you have connected any IDE devices you can speed up the ROM and IDE access by installing the power tool "ROM2 Fast" located in the PowerTools directory on the floppy disk.

If you use a Cyberstorm MK II / III or PPC please install also the Tool "MKIIPatch" (just copy it into the WBStartup directory of your Workbench).
