War 1756-63 between Britain and Prussia on
the one hand, and France, Austria, Spain, and
Russia on the other. Politically, Britain
gained control of many of France's colonies,
including Canada. Fighting against great
odds, Frederick II of Prussia was eventually
successful, establishing Prussia as one of
the great European powers.
