The process of writing a computer program in
small, independent parts. This allows a more
easily controlled program development and the
individual design and testing of the
component parts. Structured programs are
built up from units called modules, which
normally correspond to single procedures or
functions. Some programming languages, such
as PASCAL and Modula-2, are more suited to
structural programming than others.
