The bombing of enemy territory with the aim
of disrupting its economy and destroying
morale. During World War II strategic bombing
of cities was extensively used by both the
Axis and the Allied powers. Rotterdam in the
Netherlands, Warsaw in Poland, and Dresden in
Germany all experienced heavy bombardment.
