An area of London south of the river Thames,
the site of the Festival of Britain 1951, and
now a cultural centre. Buildings include the
Royal Festival Hall 1951 (Robert Matthew and
Leslie Martin) and the National Theatre 1976
(Denys Lasdun), all connected by a series of
walkways.
