Britain's senior motor-racing circuit. It is situated near Towcester, Northamptonshire, and was built on a disused airfield after World War II. It staged the first world championship Grand Prix on 13 May 1950 and has staged 23 since, becoming the permanent home of the British Grand Prix in 1987. Major features include the Becketts, Stowe and Club corners, the Abbey and Maggotts curves, the Hangar strait, and Woodcote.
