An aboriginal people of southern Africa,
formerly known as Bushmen. They still live
nomadically, mainly in the Kalahari Desert.
Although formerly numerous, only some 26,000
now remain. They are traditionally hunters
and gatherers, and speak a Khoisan language.
Their early art survives in cave paintings.
