An island fortress off the Bataan Peninsula
at the mouth of Manila Bay, Luzon, the
Philippines. On 6 May 1942, Japanese forces
captured Corregidor and its 10,000 Americans
and Filipino defenders, completing their
conquest of the Philippines. US forces
recaptured Corregidor Feb 1945.
