In Egyptian mythology, the king of the gods, 
the equivalent of Zeus or Jupiter. The name 
is also spelt Amen/Amun, as in the name of 
the pharaoh Tutankhamen. In art, he is
represented as a ram, as a man with a ram's
head, or as a man crowned with feathers. He
had temples at Siwa oasis, Libya, and Thebes,
Egypt.
