Wheatley, Dennis (Yates) 1897-1977. British
thriller and adventure novelist. He is known
for his series dealing with black magic and
occultism, but he also wrote crime novels in
which the reader was invited to play the
detective, as in Murder off Miami 1936, with
real clues such as ticket stubs.
