beliefs were reflected in the successful
trilogy Chicken Soup with Barley, Roots, and
I'm Talking About Jerusalem 1958-60. He
established a catchphrase with Chips with
Everything 1962. In 1962, Wesker tried
unsuccessfully to establish a working-class
theatre with trade-union backing. Later plays
include The Merchant 1978.
