Wentworth, William Charles 1790-1872.
Australian politician, the son of D'Arcy
Wentworth (c. 1762-1827), surgeon of the
penal settlement on Norfolk Island. In 1855
he was in Britain to steer the New South
Wales constitution through Parliament, and
campaigned for Australian federalism and
self-government.
