1907- . Rhodesian right-wing politician. He
was instrumental in the creation of a
federation of N and S Rhodesia and Nyasaland
in 1953 and was prime minister 1956-63. His
Federal Party was defeated by Ian Smith's
Rhodesian Front in 1964.
