Warwick, Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick
1428-1471. English politician, called the
Kingmaker. During the Wars of the Roses he
fought at first on the Yorkist side against
the Lancastrians, and was largely responsible
for placing Edward IV on the throne. Having
quarrelled with him, he restored Henry VI in
1470, but was defeated and killed by Edward
at Barnet, Hertfordshire.
