1100-1175. Anglo-Norman poet and chronicler
of early chivalry. His major works, both
written in Norman French, were Roman de Brut
(also known as Geste des Bretons) 1155,
relating to the Arthurian legend, and Roman
de Rou (or Geste des Normanz) 1160-62, a
chronicle of the dukes of Normandy.
