1820-1914. English illustrator and
cartoonist, known for his illustrations for
Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in
Wonderland 1865 and Through the Looking-Glass
1872. He joined the satirical magazine Punch
in 1850, and for over 50 years he was one of
its leading cartoonists.
