social reforms is reflected in The Jungle
1906, which exposed the horrors of the
Chicago stockyards and led to a change in
food-processing laws; Boston 1928; and his
Lanny Budd series 1940-53, including Dragon's
Teeth 1942, which won the Pulitzer Prize.
