1898-1969. US artist, born in Lithuania, a
Social Realist painter. His work included
drawings and paintings on the Dreyfus case
and the Sacco and Vanzetti case in which two
Italian anarchists were accused of murders.
He painted murals for the Rockefeller Center,
New York (with the Mexican artist Diego
Rivera), and the Federal Security Building,
Washington, 1940-42.
