architect, who became a US citizen 1948. His
buildings include Dallas City Hall, Texas;
East Building, National Gallery of Art,
Washington DC, 1978; John F Kennedy Library
Complex and the John Hancock Tower, Boston
1979; the Bank of China Tower, Hong Kong,
1987; and a glass pyramid in front of the
Louvre, Paris, 1989.
