1805-1881. English landscape painter and
etcher. He lived 1826-35 in Shoreham, Kent,
with a group of artists who were all
followers of William Blake and called
themselves `the Ancients'. Palmer's
expressive landscape style during that period
reflected a strongly spiritual inspiration.
