1867-1908. Viennese architect who worked
under Otto Wagner and was opposed to the
over-ornamentation of Art Nouveau. His major
buildings, however, remain Art Nouveau in
spirit: the Vienna Sezession 1897-98, the
Hochzeitsturm 1907, and the Tietz department
store in Dusseldorf, Germany.
