1886-1968. British author and diplomat. His
works include biographies (Lord Carnock 1930;
Curzon: The Last Phase 1934; and King George
V 1952) and studies such as Monarchy 1962, as
well as Diaries and Letters 1930-62. He
married Vita Sackville-West in 1913.
