1928- . Italian bobsleigh driver who won
Olympic gold medals in two- and four-crew
bobs in 1968, and between 1957 and 1968 won
11 world titles. His two-person successes
were shared with the brakemen Renzo Alvera
and Sergio Siorpaes, both Italian. On his
retirement in 1968 Monti became manager to
