1956- . US footballer player. As quarterback for San Francisco 49ers he appeared in four winning Super Bowls 1982, 1985, 1989, and 1990, winning the most valuable player award in all but 1989, and setting a record for passing yardage 1989 and the most touchdown passes 1990. He graduated from Notre Dame college, where he led his team to the national college championship 1978. He was the leading passer in the National Conference 1981, 1984, and 1985. He recovered from a serious back injury in 1986 to become the leading passer in the National Football League 1987, setting league records for touchdowns thrown (31), and consecutive completions (22). In the 1989 Super Bowl, he set a record for most passes without an interception (33).
