1924- . Italian film actor, most popular for
his carefully understated roles as an unhappy
romantic lover in such films as Antonioni's
La Notte/The Night 1961. He starred in
several films with Sophia Loren such as A
Special Day 1977 and worked with Fellini in
La dolce vita 1960, 8 1/2 1963, Roma 1971,
and Ginger and Fred 1985.
