In the New Testament, woman whom Jesus cured
of possession by evil spirits, was present at
the Crucifixion and burial, and was the first
to meet the risen Jesus. She is often
identified with the woman of St Luke's gospel
who anointed Jesus' feet, and her symbol is a
jar of ointment; feast day 22 July.
