1867-1953. Consort of George V of the UK. The
daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Teck, the
latter a grand-daughter of George II, in 1891
she became engaged to the Duke of Clarence,
eldest son of the Prince of Wales (later
Edward VII). After his death 1892, she
married 1893 his brother George, Duke of
York, who succeeded to the throne 1910.
