1920-1973. Italian composer and conductor. He
studied with Malapiero and Scherchen, and
collaborated with Berio in setting up an
electronic studio in Milan. His compositions
combine advanced techniques with an elegance
of sound, and include a pioneering work for
live and pre-recorded flute, Musica su due
dimensioni 1952, numerous concertos, and the
aleatoric Aura for orchestra 1974.
