1806-1870. Irish painter, active in London
from 1827. He drew caricatures of literary
contemporaries, such as Dickens, and his
historical paintings include The Meeting of
Wellington and Blucher after Waterloo and
Death of Nelson both 1860s (murals in the
House of Lords, London).
