with lyrics by Tim Rice, include Joseph and
the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 1968; Jesus
Christ Superstar 1970; and Evita 1978, based
on the life of the Argentinian leader Eva
Peron. He also wrote Cats 1981 and The
Phantom of the Opera 1986.
