1923- . US Pop artist. He uses advertising
imagery and comic-strip techniques, often
focusing on popular ideals of romance and
heroism, as in Whaam! 1963 (Tate Gallery,
London). He has also produced sculptures in
brass, plastic, and enamelled metal.
