1790-1869. French poet. He wrote romantic
poems, including Meditations 1820, followed
by Nouvelles meditations/New Meditations
1823, and Harmonies 1830. His Histoire des
Girondins/History of the Girondins 1847
helped to inspire the revolution of 1848.
