1908-1986. British economist, born in
Hungary, special adviser 1964-68 and 1974-76
to the UK government. He was a firm believer
in long-term capital gains tax, selective
employment tax, and a fierce critic of
monetarism. He advised several Third World
governments on economic and tax reform.
