1875-1961. Swiss psychiatrist, who
collaborated with Sigmund Freud until their
disagreement in 1912 over the importance of
sexuality in causing psychological problems.
He studied religion and dream symbolism, saw
the unconscious as a source of spiritual
insight, and distinguished between
introversion and extroversion. His books
include Modern Man in Search of a Soul 1933.
