1564, who was imprisoned several times for
attempting to impose the reforms laid down by
St Teresa. His verse describes spiritual
ecstasy. Feast day 24 Nov. He was persecuted
and sent to the monastery of Ubeda until his
death. He was beatified 1674 and canonized
