1907-1950. British documentary film-maker,
active in the GPO Film Unit from 1934. His
wartime films provide a vivid portrayal of
London in the Blitz. His films include Post
Haste 1934, London Can Take It 1940, This is
England 1941, and Fires were Started 1943.
