Member of the W African Ibo culture group
occupying SE Nigeria. Primarily cultivators,
they inhabit the richly forested tableland,
bound by the river Niger to the W and the
river Cross to the E. They are divided into
five main divisions, and their languages
belong to the Kwa branch of the Niger-Congo
family.
