1934- . Cambodian politician. A former Khmer
Rouge commander 1976-78, who had become
disillusioned with its brutal tactics, he led
an unsuccessful coup against Pol Pot 1978 and
established the Kampuchean People's
Revolutionary Party (KPRP) in Vietnam, before
returning 1979 to head the new
Vietnamese-backed government.
