Parker, was the chief creator and exponent of
the bebop style. Though associated mainly
with small combos, Gillespie played trumpet
with a number of renowned jazz bands, such as
those of Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington.
Gillespie influenced many modern jazz
trumpeters, including Miles Davis.
