1939- . English film actor, usually cast in
upper-class, refined roles but celebrated for
his portrayal of a psychotic gangster in
Nicolas Roeg's Performance 1970, which was
followed by a ten-year break from acting. Fox
appeared in The Servant 1963 and Isadora
1968. He returned to acting in A Passage to
India 1984 and Absolute Beginners 1985.
