1898-1988. Italian founder of the Ferrari car
empire, which specializes in Grand Prix
racing cars and high-quality sports cars. He
was a racing driver for Alfa Romeo in the
1920s, went on to become one of their
designers and in 1929 took over their racing
division. In 1947 the first `true' Ferrari
was seen. The Ferrari car has won more world
championship Grands Prix than any other car.
