1847-1929. English suffragette, younger
sister of Elizabeth Garrett Anderson. A
non-militant, she rejected the violent acts
of some of her contemporaries in the suffrage
movement. She joined the first Women's
Suffrage Committee 1867 and became president
of the Women's Unionist Association 1889.
