writer. His naturalistic Studs Lonigan
trilogy 1932-35, comprising Young Lonigan,
The Young Manhood of Studs Lonigan, and
Judgment Day, describes the development of a
young Catholic man in Chicago after World War
I, and was written from his own experience.
The Face of Time 1953 is considered one of
his finest works.
