1870-1945. British poet who became closely
associated in London with Oscar Wilde.
Douglas's father, the 9th Marquess of
Queensberry, strongly disapproved of the
relationship and called Wilde a `posing
Somdomite' (sic). Wilde's action for libel
ultimately resulted in his own imprisonment.
