1873-1956. English poet, known for his verse for children, such as Songs of Childhood 1902, and the novels The Three Royal Monkeys 1910 for children and, for adults, The Memoirs of a Midget 1921. His debut, Songs of Childhood, appeared under the pseudonym Walter Ramal. Later works include poetry for adults (The Listeners 1912 and Collected Poems 1942), anthologies (Come Hither 1923 and Behold this Dreamer 1939), and short stories.
