Spartacus uprising 71 BC. In 60 BC he joined
with Caesar and Pompey in the First
Triumvirate and obtained command in the East
55 BC. Invading Mesopotamia, he was defeated
by the Parthians at the battle of Carrhae,
captured, and put to death.
