The Bridge (1930) uses the Brooklyn Bridge as
a symbol. In his work he attempted to link
humanity's present with its past, in an epic
continuum. His poetry is highly original. He
drowned after jumping overboard from a
steamer bringing him back to the USA after a
visit to Mexico.
